At Access @ Ardgowan we provide a supportive, caring and friendly environment that focuses on the Hospice being informative and reassuring for those people coming to terms with the diagnosis of a life limiting illness, which can be frightening, confusing and overwhelming for patients and their families.
Our focus is to promote health and wellbeing in mind and body. We are here to help you achieve your personal goals and answer any questions about living with a life limiting illness.
We provide a calm and welcoming environment based at 2 Ardgowan Street, situated one block along from the main hospice building and close to Greenock West railway station plus many local bus links.

Please feel free to ‘drop-in’ at any time and speak with one of our specialist staff. A member of the team will be delighted to discuss any issues or concerns you may have. You will be asked for your contact details as this information will allow one of our specialist nurses to connect with you and offer an appointment should this be needed.

We have a comprehensive range of literature and information for your use so please help yourself to this material or if more convenient, we can send them to your home address. In the comfort of your home and with your family and friends, they’ll help you understand how to live with your illness. Please don’t hesitate to ask any member of our staff for this information. We also have a lending library and internet access at Ardgowan which is for your use.
Ardgowan provide individual specialist psychological support during which, you will have the opportunity to talk, discuss and explore the various issues surrounding living with a life limiting illness.
Did you know…
We have various support groups operating within Ardgowan’s Access Building. They are informal, lively and allow patients to share their own experiences with one another - a good chat and on many occasions an excellent lively debate happens over a cup of tea and one of Ardgowan’s famous cakes.
