What can I do?
There are many varied roles open to you. Whether you want to help in an area where you have previous experience or would prefer a new challenge; we are sure to have something to suit!
Reception work offers the chance to meet people, handle enquiries, develop communication skills and complete some routine tasks.
Kitchen work provides an opportunity to make and serve tea/coffee to patients and visitors, to assist with the preparation of meals and to carry out general duties in our warm and friendly kitchen.
Housekeeping is an area where you can “brush up” your cleaning skills! You might be asked to work in the offices/patient areas, doing some vacuuming, dusting, or washing.
Office duties range from data entry to photocopying! The opportunities are too numerous to list.
Patient Driving is an area where we do need expertise and insist upon some basic requirements: A current clean driving licence, a reliable car fully comprehensive insurance cover etc.
Fundraising tasks include, data entry, counting money, can collection, helping at fundraising functions, general mailing and distribution projects.
Charity Shops offer the chance to show off your retail skills while serving customers, sorting and pricing stock
These are samples of the work carried out by volunteers. There are more specialist areas in which you can become involved, and we are always interested in innovative ideas to further develop our service.
