Hospice Ball 2010
Ardgowan Hospice recently held its 2010 Annual Ball on Saturday 27th March at the luxurious Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.   The evening is the most spectacular event on the fundraising calendar and kicked off with a drinks reception before almost 300 guests enjoyed a delicious four-course dinner.  This year the Hospice celebrated the Ball’s 20th Anniversary with a new theme of Black Tie and Diamonds and there was certainly plenty of glitz and glamour on the night.

Guests had the chance to bid for some amazing prizes at a Charity Auction, hosted by Brian Clements of McTears Auctioneers, as well as winning some fabulous gifts in our charity raffle and taking part in our fun Heads & Tails Game.  Guests then danced the night away on a packed dance floor to fantastic live music performed by The Strides, a talented four piece band from Glasgow.  The event was hosted by Clyde 1 DJ Gina McKie who was delighted to be able to join forces with the Hospice this year and did a great job on the night.

The auction raised a fantastic £6,000, with guests securing prizes such as Paul McCartney & Westlife Tickets with hotel accommodation, stunning Tiffany Jewellery, a Valentino handbag, hospitality at Morton Football Club and original paintings by local artist Emma Semple.

Events such as this assist the Hospice greatly to be able to continue to offer the range of outstanding services it currently provides free of charge to hundreds of patients and families within the Inverclyde community during what can be a very difficult time.

Feedback from the event has been extremely positive with many guests signing up for next year’s event already!

The fundraising team would sincerely like to thank all of our many guests who attended on the night as well as our very generous supporters who donated items to our auction, raffle and goody bags.
