Patient & Family Support

Ardgowan Hospice, as a Specialist Palliative Care provider, recognises the needs of both patients and families for ongoing support with psychological adjustment and practical social issues.

Supporting patients, families and carers is an extremely important part of this service, working between the In-Patient unit and the Day Hospice.

Key areas that support can be provided in are help to apply for appropriate benefits for patients and carers, discharge planning, psychological support and housing issues.

Additional aspects of this service include user involvement through networks and actively encouraging patient and public involvement by working in partnership with other organisations
