Day Hospice

The purpose of Day Hospice is to support patients who are living in the community.
We operate 4 days a week 10:30am – 3pm, Tuesday – Friday and patients come on the same day each week.

Volunteer drivers in their own cars transport those who are mobile. We also have a minibus, which has been adapted for wheelchair use, and staff can collect those whose mobility is not so good.

   While here patients have access to all of the  

   support and facilities offered by the Hospice.

   However according to our patients, they value

   Day Hospice most as a place where they can

   spend time with others who have had similar

   experiences and there fore have a better

                                                 understanding of how they feel.

Referrals can be made by any health professional or by the person themselves.
We aim to enhance the quality of life for patients by monitoring and reviewing symptoms and needs. After 8 weeks the patient’s situation is reassessed and they may continue to receive care at Day Hospice with 3 monthly reviews or be discharged.
