Investing in the future
Ardgowan hospice is delighted to announce that following rigorous scrutiny they have achieved Investors in People recognition, meeting the requirements for the Bronze Award.
Investors in People has grown to be the UK’s leading people management business improvement standard because it delivers improved performance to thousands of organisations. Currently almost seven million employees in over 35,000 organisations have achieved Investors in People recognition. And an amazing 3,000 of these have been recognised for ten or more years!
This is a magnificent achievement and a tribute to the sustained effort and determination of everyone associated with the Hospice. Recognition by Investors in People signals a commitment to continuous improvement for patients and carers through the development of staff.
To mark this special occasion the Hospice is delighted to welcome Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon who will visit on Wednesday 2 March to officially present Chief Executive Dorothy McElroy with the certificate.
Ardgowan Hospice Chief Executive, Dorothy McElroy, commented; “We are absolutely delighted that Nicola Sturgeon has agreed to visit the Hospice to help us recognise this achievement and look forward to showing her our first class facilities. I would like to thank staff and representatives who spent time in preparation for the submission and spending time with the assessor on the day of the visit. This included a number of volunteers, who spoke of their experiences of volunteering.”
Nicola Sturgeon, Health Secretary commented: “I congratulate everyone involved with the Ardgowan Hospice on their award of Investors in People status. The award is in recognition of the good work undertaken by so many different people involved with the hospice, and it's well-deserved.
"I look forward to meeting some of the staff at Ardgowan and seeing for myself the difference that they make to the lives of so many residents."
