Our 2010 event saw 265 fabulous fashionistas dress up to the nines to attend the annual Ardgowan Hospice Ladies Day, held at The Chartroom in Inverkip.  This event is one of the most glamorous events on the hospice calendar.

 

The ladies sipped on a refreshing glass of fizz at the reception sponsored by Playtex and before enjoying a fabulous lunch in the stunning marquee on the grounds of the marina in the glorious sunshine.

 

After lunch the ladies had the opportunity to hear one of Scotland’s most recognised and entertaining actresses, Joyce Falconer who plays Roisin in BBC’s hit drama River City. Her witty and extremely entertaining observations on life went down a storm with the crowd if the raucous laughter was anything to go by.

 

The entertainment kept on coming with Gillian Parker from Sew Vintage and her models taking to the stage and wowing the crowd with a selection of gorgeous vintage clothes from her shop in Gourock.

 

Throughout the day the ladies were able to take part in the charity raffle by purchasing a dainty french fancy kindly donated by Sainsbury’s.  There was also the opportunity to have a go at the silent auction and lucky tombola as well as peruse the stalls in the function room from Teethwhite, Lucien, Sew Vintage, Ardgowan Hospice Information and Support and Ardgowan Hospice Kilmacolm Shop. 

 

Allure Beauty was also on hand providing taster treatments and some lucky ladies got the chance to have their nails painted for the occasion.

 

Every lady took away a fabulous Rox goody bag containing products from Buchanan’s, Playtex, Ardgowan Health & Beauty and Curves, and many more very generous donors.

 

Around £6,500 was raised from the event which was a tremendous contribution to our funds and will go a long way towards continuing to provide the excellent care provision and services provided by Ardgowan Hospice.

 

 

Ardgowan Hospice would like to thank all who contributed to the raffle, goody bags and silent auction.  A huge thanks to all the wonderful ladies who attended, our volunteer helpers on the day and of course the staff at The Chartroom, Inverkip who have all made this event another great success.
